Burdock & Co Bar Gobo Pop-up
on Select Monday nights

Burdock & Co is is proud to introduce their newest Monday pop-up series: Bar Gobo. All of the snacks – with farm-to-table flare in mind – are enhanced by dazzling DJs, thirst-quenching craft beer and cocktails, and an award-winning completely natural wine list.

Bar Gobo raises the bar for happy hours citywide with delights that will put pep in guests’ steps for the rest of the week. Hosted on select Mondays throughout the year, each pop-up event will carry a different theme: think Bubbles and Buns, featuring pillowy steamed buns served alongside bubbles and natural wine; and long-time fan favourite – Disco Dumplings, whose flavour-packed savouries – priced at just $10 per plate – are accompanied by special guest DJ Chris Allen spinning hip-shaking tunes under a glittering disco ball.

Perfect for after-work pick-me-ups, post-weekend catch-ups, and romantic dates alike, Burdock & Co’s intimate space features a cozy communal table, as well as cocktail and kitchen bar seating that grants front-row seats to all the action. The locally loved eatery is owned by Chef Andrea Carlson, whose sustainable culinary philosophy is captured in her recently published Burdock & Co: Poetic Recipes Inspired by Ocean, Land and Air, an engaging cookbook that pays homage to the coastlines, forests, valleys and farms of the Pacific Northwest (available at online retailers and bookstores across Canada).

Bar Gobo will kick-off with a pop-up on Monday, November 11 from 8:00pm until late. Hungry diners can look forward to farm-to-table share plates, including ramen fries with mayo furikake; pork ribs with spicy honey; chicory salad with garlic pecorino; ssam wraps with tofu chili verbena; and Burdock & Co’s crispy fried chicken. Monday, November 25 will be the following edition of Bar Gobo, featuring Filipino-inspired drinking food. Stay tuned!

Whether for Bar Gobo, leisurely dinner or weekend brunch, Chef Carlson’s dishes reflect seasonable availability, and mindful guests can rest assured all ingredients are organic and ethically sourced. The drinks list – which earned the Platinum Award for Wine Program Excellence at the Vancouver International Wine Festival in 2017 and 2018 – is no exception with an expertly curated selection of naturalist wines harvested and crafted with minimal intervention.

Anyone seeking inventive fare paired with mood-setting live music will adore Burdock & Co’s Bar Gobo pop-up – stay tuned for upcoming events! Each event will start on select Monday night from 8:00pm until late, with regular dining reservations accepted until 6:30pm. During the rest of the week, guests can either reserve ahead or visit at their leisure between 5pm and 10pm; weekend brunch is served between 10am and 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
