Melanie Krueger

Acclaimed for her expressive, lyric tone, and thrilling high notes, Canadian soprano Melanie Krueger embraces an extraordinarily wide range of repertoire, from Britten and Stravinsky to Mozart and Bach.

Melanie maintains a thriving performance schedule, which has taken her from Canada to Europe. This current season will include various performances including “Dolce and Belcanto” with The Vancouver Opera Festival. Notable concert performances include the “Behind the Keys” recital series with Les Dala and the Vacnouver Bach Choir, Handel’s Messiah as well as Mahler’s Symphony #8. Highlights from Melanie’s career include: Stravinsky’s Les Noces with Maestro Les Dala, Lillian, in John Estacios’ Lillian Alling at the Banff Centre for the Performing Arts, Abigail Williamsin the Czech premier of Ward’s “The Crucible”, Fortunain Monteverdi’s Il Ritorno D’Ulisse in Patria at Teatro Massimo’s Festival Scarlatti, Sandrinain Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera at the Prague Estate Theatre, Atalantain Handel’s Xerxes with the Prague Chamber Opera, Musettain Puccini’s La Boheme and The Vixenin Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen with the Usti nad Labem Opera House.

Melanie holds a masters degree in voice performance from the University of British Columbia, a bachelor of music degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Education degree from Memorial University.

Martin Renner-Wallace

Martin Renner Wallace did his undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria where he studied under the tutelage of Alexandra Browning Moore. In 2006 he was a member of the Pacific Opera Victoria’s Young Artist Program. That Summer Martin participated in the Okanagan Vocal Arts Festival. In 2008 he was invited to Banff to participate in their Opera as Theatre Program. Martin then attended the University of British Columbia and Graduated in 2010 with his Masters of Music in Opera. After Graduating he was accepted into the 2010/2011 Calgary Opera Emerging Artist Program.

In 2010 he was a district finalist for the Metropolitan Opera Nacional Council Auditions. Martin was a member of the inaugural Vancouver Opera Yulanda M. Faris Young Artist Program in 2012/2013. Martin has performed as a soloist with groups such as: the Victoria Gilbert and Sullivan Society, the University of Victoria Orchestra, The Sooke Philharmonic, The Cathedral Festival Orchestra, The Victoria Conservatory of Music Opera Studio, Pacific Opera Victoria, The Vancouver Academy of Music, Burnaby Lyric Opera, Calgary Opera, Calgary Civic Orchestra, the Victoria Symphony, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Jeunesses Musical Canada and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra.
