First Pick Handmade

First Pick Handmade transforms Heritage Hall
into a two-day pop up boutique

First Pick Handmade www.firstpickhandmade.com will again transform Heritage Hall into a 3,300-square foot pop up boutique department store for those that value Canadian design and quality materials on Saturday, March 17th to Sunday, March 18th at Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street, Vancouver. This first-ever Spring fashion only event features a seasonal edit, building on the First Pick Handmade “head to toe handmade” concept: bikinis (Bikini Empire); light weight shawls (Frances Felt); linen garments and towels (Le Fil Rouge Textiles); hemp tees and tanks (Novel Supply); wedding ready chic (Jessica Redditt Designs, DRZDWSK (men’s dress pants); and natural skin care (Quw’utsun’ Made, Conscious Care).

“Shows like First Pick Handmade really help consumers with ethical and slow fashion purchasing decisions. Many consumers want to be more responsible with their consumer dollars, but it can be hard to wade through websites and online stores,” says Janna Hurtzig, First Pick Handmade event founder. “At First Pick Handmade, we provide careful, seasonal curation to assist busy consumers in buying local and sustainably, all in one place. Our “head to toe handmade” concept showcases the amazing array of goods being made here in Canada, in an intimate setting where customers can mingle with the designers. What sets us apart from many shows is our level of quality brands and exclusive fashion focus.”

Hurtzig has also sold her designs at popular shows across Canada for the last 11 years.
