Shiny Fuzzy Muddy Craft Fair
December 14-15, 2019

Shiny Fuzzy Muddy’s 17th annual artist curated collection of
fine art, craft and design returns to Heritage Hall
December 14 – 15 for final and farewell show

Celebrating 17 years of Shiny Fuzzy Muddy Collective holiday events, the annual artist curated collection of fine art, craft and design, will host their final two-day farewell show at the Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street, in Vancouver, BC on Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th. This collaborative event provides a venue that champions craftsmanship over mass production, annually hosting over 30 Canadian and BC based artists to exhibit in an intimate environment where shoppers can mingle with the makers. Throughout the years of this long running show, over 75 Canadian visual artists, makers, designers, jewelers and potters and their products have been featured at events providing a unique platform for consumers to meet the people who create art in the city.

“It’s bittersweet that 2019 will be the final Shiny Fuzzy Muddy show,” says Frances Dickinson, co-founder, of the SFM Collective, “we have seen the growth of slow fashion and handmade design in Vancouver over the past 17 years and we are so proud to have championed this movement. But now, as artists and designers who crave change and creativity, it’s time for all of us to focus on new projects.”

About Shiny Fuzzy Muddy:

Shiny Fuzzy Muddy formed in 2003 as a not-for-profit collective to create events and to bring art to the people. 2019 sees the 20th show and final year as the collective celebrates their 17th year milestone of offering high end and handmade events connecting artists to the community with curated holiday events. The group’s core members and local makers, Janna Hurtzig, Kari Woo and Frances Dickinson, annually plan the Shiny Fuzzy Muddy show, which takes place the second weekend in December at Heritage Hall. With an effort made to seek out new artists, up to thirty guests are invited to exhibit and sell their work at this historic Main St. location. The common thread that ties the work together is the high quality of design, craftsmanship, material sensibility and professionalism.
