Having lived in Vancouver for over 20 years, oh yes, I can safely say I eat around.  And to that end, here’s my list of Yaletown restaurants that never fail to please.

  • Fayuca – there’s a good reason why this restaurant is become a favorite of restaurant critics.  They feature innovative flavours and I’ve had their ceviche which had squash.  I’ll be headed here for their Taste of Yaletown menu of $45
  • Hapa Izakaya – inventive, tasty Japanese tapas, love the Ebo Shrimp and .Spicy Pork Ishi-Yaki;
  • House Special –  modern Vietnamese food with a creative innovative menu.  I was here for last year’s Taste of Yaletown which was fabulous;
  • La Pentola della Quercia – when I eat here, I want to break out into an aria as its simply a harmony of Italian flavours and I should know as I attended one of the La Famiglia Supper series of 10 courses;
  • Lime and Moon:  finish off here with a slice of pie with coffee/tea for just $15;
  • The Parlour – more than just a pizza joint, there’s a variety of tapas such as the Ahi Tuna Wrap and Brocco;
  • Provence Marinaside:  there’s a reason why this restaurant has been around for more than 10 years because the food is consistently excellent and I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve had here (I’ve eaten here about 10 times);
  • The Greek – honk of you love lamb as the Greek’s know what they’re doing to their little lambs;
  • Yaletown L’Antipasto – just simply great pasta dishes, I highly recommend the Pappardelle rosse of egg noodles with braised boneless shortrib,
