Participating Establishments for Tasting Plates North Van – Lonsdale:
125 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver
Specialty: Vegetarian and Vegan Market and Cafe
Just like North Vancouver’s Historic Shipyards, vegetarianism has evolved and changed over the last 100 years. From gritty and humble to a now a mainstay, we are ready to take the next step of that evolution into our own hands. After seeing plant-based, vegetarian, and vegan products popping up in major grocery stores and becoming obsessed with luxurious vegetarian dining, we felt that Vancouver was missing the boutique experience when it came to plant-forward shopping.
What if you could get fresh salads with dreamy dressings in the same places you grabbed those sad vending machine meals on the go? What if there was a destination to stock up on vegetarian products, snack on veggie dishes worthy of ‘Chef’s Table’, and grab a kombucha slushie?
Larry’s Markets is here to make eating as a vegan, vegetarian, plant-based, or plant-curious more delicious and easy.Larry’s Market may have been established in 2019, but we believe its lineage began in the 1940s at the North Vancouver Shipyards. Grandparents from two sides of the Dennis family worked at Canada’s busiest shipyard at the time; Baba and Gramps met while working as a Crane Operator and a Secretary while Grandad on the other side worked there too. The next generation of Dennis’ including Auntie Oly, Uncle Ted, and Papa Dennis. So after 25 years in the grocery industry, and realizing there was no place that provided healthy and veggie-focused food, both stylishly and conveniently, Founder and Owner Ryan Dennis knew there was only one place it could be.
