Every fall, over nine bustling weeks, BC’s busiest elves prepare Potters Nurseries and its 28,000 square-foot space with all things Christmas. Santa’s workshop is readied, the lights in Mr. and Mrs. Claus’ House are turned on, and Western Canada’s largest Christmas store throws open its doors.
Potters’ buyers have shopped the world, keeping an eye out for the most unique items with holiday “wow” factor. The store’s themed rooms brim with colourful ornaments, wreaths, garlands and the very latest in Christmas lighting – from battery-operated lights for wreaths to twinkling pixie lights that are used throughout the store.
Dazzling though Potters’ décor may be, this is also the place for quirky gifts. Whether you’re looking for stocking stuffers like decks of cards featuring superheroes, a fishing- or equestrian-related bauble for the tree, the ultimate pair of gardening gloves for your green-thumbed relative – or gifts like ice cream mugs that make ice-cream in three minutes, Ugly Christmas T-shirts, and adult colouring books to soothe the soul – you’ll find something for everyone on your list.
Be sure to bring the kids. On weekends, festive live music enhances the holiday spirit and for the 10th year, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit the store starting November 28 from 10 am – 3 pm Saturdays and 11 am – 3 pm Sundays, through December 13.
Don’t forget your list – with all of Potters’ holiday inspiration around you, this may be your one-stop shop.
