Vancouver Foodster presents the Cake Challenge
Welcome to the 1st Vancouver Foodster Cake Challenge. Bakeries and Restaurants from all over the city were invited to enter a newly created Cake into this challenge. Each place will be featuring their cake creation on their menu now through to December 3, 2017.
Here are the unique creations in the Cake Challenge:
Description: Served with cacao nib tuile and vanilla bean anglaise, organic strawberries

Description: This cake showcases our pastry chef’s favourite flavours: hazelnut, caramel, chocolate and coffee. The cake will be presented as an individual sized dessert and starts with a chocolate hazelnut sable Breton cookie base with a caramel dark chocolate ganache. Next, a 72% Venezuelan dark chocolate mousse hides a hazelnut praline-coffee cremeux centre with the insertion of a layer of moist chocolate cake and more chocolate mousse to complete the cake. The NC3 is finished in a milk chocolate velvet with milk chocolate caramel glaze dripping down its sides, while a salted caramel hazelnut macaron garnishes the top with some chocolate fans, toasted hazelnuts, chocolate rocks and fleur de sel.

Description: Almond cookie meringue base coated in a bitter chocolate ganache. 70% dark chocolate amarena cherry mousse, amaretto soaked opera almond sponge, Topped with a white chocolate amarena cherry mouse. Toppers with a dark amarena cherry glaze and white and dark almond bark, and don’t forget the edible gold flakes.

Description: White chocolate cardamom mousse with a cinnamon-milk chocolate ganache center and a vanilla bean sponge base. It is glazed in a cardamom tea glaze and accompanied by a lightly salted and roasted pistachio border.
